18-Year-Old New Year's Arsonist Set Fire To Soap Dispenser In Harford Mall Bathroom: Officials

An 18-year-old man has been charged with setting a fire inside of a men's restroom at the Harford Mall on New Year's Eve, authorities said.

Gabriel E. Wallace, of Bel Air, started the fire that security officers put out in a soap dispenser in a restroom in the mall around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, according to a release from the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

Wallace was identified as a suspect and charged with first and second-degree arson, malicious burning, second-degree, and malicious destruction of property less than $1,000.

He was taken to the Harford County Detention and later released on his recognizance.
